This delicate, graduated bead necklace is 18 inches long. The largest, centered bead is 13 mm wide, and the smallest beads 5 mm wide. Each bead is a sphere of lacy filigree work, linked together with a series of rings. The clasp is an early spring-ring clasp that works very well. One tiny ring next to the clasp bears two impressed hallmarks. These are difficult to read, however one appears to be the mark for .833 silver and Oporto, Portugal. This mark was used from 1938 on. The other mark could not be identified. The entire necklace has a gold wash, which is in excellent condition. There are no dents, warps, breaks, or losses of gold coating.
