This hand-painted Chinese export, famille rose porcelain teapot features colorful decorations of Chinese figures, which appear to be holding flags, kites, and flowers or palm fronds. The teapot measures 7 1/4 inches long, 4 1/4 inches wide, and 4 inches high. The lid has a fancy applied porcelain finial. The pot rim, finial, and spout rim have gilt detail added. This little pot is signed on the bottom with several Chinese characters, which we could not identify. This pot originated between 1850 and 1912, the later part of the Qing Dynasty. The condition is excellent. There are no chips, cracks or crazing, nor are there any repairs. The inside rim of the pot, and the inside rim of the lid have both been marked with similar markings, identifying that they belong together.
