This little porcelain teapot measures 5 1/2 inches long, and 3 1/4 inches tall. The hand-painted cobalt characters make a lively and interesting design all around the pot. If only we knew what wisdom they impart. The overall condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks or crazing. There are no stains or discoloration, or even signs of use. The concave, unglazed base has two felt tabs to prevent the pot from scratching any surface. Although the base of the pot is unsigned, the inside lid has an impressed mark. We were unable to identify the maker, but believe it to be Chinese. We estimate that this little pot was made in the mid to late 19th century.
