This majolica wall pocket measures 7 1/2 inches long, 4 3/4 inches wide, and 2 1/2 inches deep. It is designed as a basket, adorned with vines of berries or grapes. There is a mischievous creature approaching the berries in the Pallisy style. The condition is very good. There is some paint and glaze loss, and crazing. There are a couple of tiny fleabites on the base. It is unsigned, however there are the remnants of a round paper label on the front, and the back has a paper label with "180--" which may identify the price in a foreign currency. There is no maker's name. There are no cracks or other detriments not described above. This is believed to be from the late 19th century, or the early 20th century.
