What a beautiful doll face. Hamburger is a German name, and was only in business for a short time from 1889-1910. The head and shoulders are bisque, her arms are bisque, the remaining is white leather, in great condition. The legs have wear but the rest of her body is in great condition. Notice the lovely face she has, with sweet open mouth with four teeth, she has blue sleep eyes, glass eyes, with painted eye lashes, heavy painted eye brows, not to mention, the cute little dimple and tiny ears. When her eyes are closed there is some missing paint on her right eye lid. Her ringlets go great with her style and is adorned with a rhinestone head band. I am not sure if the wig is original to her. Her head shoulder, and arms are free of chips cracks. She wears a beige dress with lacy sleeves, and matching belt which is sewn to the dress with pantaloons, and a full slip made of cotton. The left lacy sleeve has a hole which could be patched. She wear high length socks, with tan soft almost like leather shoe adorned with faux pearls. I did not want to attempt to take her dress off appears it was made on her. But I did check the leather arms, body etc. for damage just saw wear. She is 17" tall I can safely date her between 1889-1910. The back is signed Ruth, and after my research her mark and the way it was written was identical to Hamburger, the way the R is written, the extension of the y goes under the name.
