Fabulous Victorian era of a pressed clear glass intaglio brooch. The findings are the barley twist around the brooch are cast metal gold gilt, with some ware in areas. The intaglio is beveled, with long flowing hair, and appears she has type of ribbon down the side of her hair. The closure is a C clasp, and appears to be hand made, looking at the opposite end has a unique way of adding the pin as there were many different ways this end was made. The C clasps were predominately through the Victorian Era and the length of the pin was always longer in the Victorian era as this pin extends beyond the brooch. The front has a scratch on the right side. Brooch measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" wide. Circa 1860's. There are a few bubbles in the glass. Also when you look at the sides with a jewelers loop you can see a few creases from the mold in which this brooch was made.
