Eloise is a stuffed doll, and is the original Eloise by Kay Thompson, you will see a lot of newer dolls out there today because Eloise is that popular. If you look up this Doll by Kay Thompson you will learn who Kay was, she was quite the lady of the 1950's.
Kay Thompson was most famous for the creation of Eloise, a woman who gave name to the MGM musicals, a legendary vocal coach for Frank Sinatra, Lena Horn and many many other famous people. Kay was such a big personality in fact that she had to diffuse it into an alter ego, the six year old Eloise was born, Kay would often talk to people like a 6 year old.
Eloise is so popular today she is at the museum exhibition at New York City Historical Society, Kay also made pants for women.
Eloise is in great condition, no holes, but a few brown spots that I'm sure will come clean, her nose has a small scuff, one snap on her blouse is missing, her skirt is wool, has a couple of areas that need to be cleaned looks like it will come right off. Her original red ribbon needs to be ironed out, but she is all original and she is missing her black shoes, you know she is one of the first dolls because of the thick yarn for her hair, and her eyes left glance
She the first tags attached to her blouse as shown in the picture Eloise with the copyright symbol
she measures 23" long.
