Up for your consideration is a German bisque doll, by Rauenstein. In 1895 Rauenstein registered their dolls trade mark of two crossed flags as this one is marked with the crossed flags, which has the letter mark A, C, D, N, and the No., P or R. Most Rauenstein bisque head dolls were found to be cabinet sized, but have seen their dolls 17" tall with sleep eyes open mouth, wigged and jointed composition body.
This doll measures 13 1/2" tall, Sleep glass eyes, green glass eyes, finely hand painted brows, lashes top and bottom, full tooth teeth, rosy cheeks, and a cute dimple on his chin. He has no hair, cute little ears, Free of chips and hair line cracks.
Bisque head is marked top Made in Germany below No. X O below .D. as shown in pictures. Bisque is a soft pink color.
The head has the factory holes on each side of the head and one on the top. He is full jointed as Rauenstein dolls were made. Compo body is in excellent condition as well. The back is stamped in back but could not read it.
