This collectible 1943 Trench Art Lighter has a new flint and just needs to be filled up with lighter fluid to work. We did test it by wetting the wick. This is a genuine WW2 50 caliber brass shell casing converted into a lighter. Stamped on the bottom of a World War II era 50-caliber shell casing is “43 TW.” The mark means the shell came from the Twin Cities Ordnance Plant in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1943. The year makes this lighter 77 years old. It is a great memory piece of the years we fought WW2. The youngest living WW2 veteran would have been born in 1928 and would be 92 years of age. That generation of heroes is quickly disappearing.

Soldiers could buy the lighter part to convert the lighters. This one comes with a blue cover where the actual bullet would go. It is in great vintage shape and really would shine if you used brass polish on the brass casing. Remember it will not work when you get it because we cannot ship anything that has a flammable liquid inside it. It is 5 1/2" long
