This vintage Devilbiss # 127 Medical/Perfume atomizer bottle has a real steampunk look. Dr. Allen Devilbiss invented the first atomizer in the late 1880’s. In order to help his patients breathe more freely, Dr. DeVilbiss tried harder, worked smarter and became an innovator – dedicated to the quality of design and its impact on the quality of life. He would tinker around in his backyard woodshed until just the right tool was perfected. The 127 was made starting in the early 1900's and was made to spray water, oil, medicines, and to treat nose and throat remedies. It was soon used to spray perfumes also.
This atomizer is in excellent condition. The bulb is very soft, pliable, and sprays very nicely. This one was last used for perfume as the bottle retains a very faint perfume odor. The glass does not have any cracks or chips. The chrome top has Devilbiss No 127 printed on it. There are three raised glass dots on the bottom.
The atomizer from bulb to tip of is 8 ". The glass bottle is 1.75" without lid and stands 2.5" at top of cap with the atomizer. The bottle is 5.75" in circumference. The bulb stands .5" with the cap on and the tip stands 3".
