This vintage Hallmark Keepsake glass ornament "Shirt Tales Parade" (QX2773) was produced from 1980-1985 when the Shirt Tales characters were featured on greeting cards and a Saturday morning TV show. The characters were created in 1980 by card designer Janet Elizabeth Manco and they were featured on greeting cards. Hallmark teamed with Hanna-Barbera in 1982 and took the popular characters and developed a Saturday morning television show that ran until 1985.
This ornament depicts the characters-Tyg Tiger, Pammy Panda, Rick Raccoon, and Bogy Orangutan, Digger Mole and Kip Kangaroo carrying musical instruments, marching in a parade with Tyg Tiger as the drum major leading the parade. Across the bottom is written "Merriment is all around whenever Christmas comes to town!
The glass ornament is 3.5" in height, 9.25" in circumference. It comes in the original box, which has the original purchase tag, that measures 4" in height, 3.5" in width and 3 1/8" deep. The inside of the box has one small bent place on the top that you can view in the pictures. The ornament is in excellent condition with no scratches. This is a wonderful piece to bring back those Saturday mornings sitting around the television watching the Shirt Tales in all their adventures.
