This green Vaseline glass juicer/reamer is a nice example of Vaseline glass. The term "Vaseline glass" is from the 1950's. It is also known as "uranium glass" to describe a transparent yellow green color. Other items with uranium but more green in color have other colorants added to the glass to attain the green color. Natural uranium was used before WWII and in 1959 production was turned to using depleted uranium. Uranium was first used in the 1830s to color glass. The only period uranium has not been used was over a 15 year period during WWII until 1959 when uranium was again added to the production.
This juicer/reamer is 8.5" in diameter from spout to the handle. It is 4" in height at the multi-faceted reamer and it has a 5" diameter base. When the piece is exposed to UV light the piece glows a bright lime green color. It is in beautiful condition with no chips or cracks.
