This 1950's vintage Taylor tabletop or desk top barometer was made in the USA by Taylor Instrument Company of Asheville North Carolina. It is encased in Lucite and has a plate that rotates on the back for an adjustment for your altitude.
It is on a cast iron base that is painted gold e and the instrument is in a brass colored case with a gold ring. It is in good vintage shape with the only flaw I see is someone glued the Lucite to the cast iron with a glue that turned white and has a small flea bite on the top. It looks like Elmer's glue which would clean up well. It could easily be taken apart and glued with a glue that is colorless.
I don't have a reliable barometer to test against but its readings do not conflict with current weather conditions. The case needs a minor cleaning with a flea bite, but no chips, cracks, or damage.
