Dating from around 1890 this 6 1/4" by 4" by 3 3/4" high, single chamber papier mache caddy has a silver paper lining to keep its valuable contents dry and in good condition. The caddy is decorated in an all-over deep black lacquer. The hand-painted scene of a Russian milk maid toting a yoke bearing a couple of pails of milk decorates the lid with a typical rural scene. Except for a minor impact incident, (separately illustrated) on the base, which is not visible when the box is on display, the caddy is in excellent condition. Worldwide insured air shipping is included in listed price. Nothing else to pay.
