Nothing is more evocative of the formal Victorian era than "high tea". Central to this afternoon ceremony was the dish carrying cakes or delicate sandwiches. Here is one of these dishes (from around 1880) in papier mache. It is 9 1/2" in diameter, made with mother of pearl inserts and is classic black japanned with gilded trimmings applied and displaying a central posey of flowers and foliage. Worldwide insured air shipping on this colourful piece is included in listed price. Nothing extra to be paid.
