This item is a GERMAN WHITE METAL ANEROID DESK BAROMETER with IMPRESSED DEER HEAD. It has a wonderful art nouveau look featuring the aforementioned deer head and typical leaf and vine designs reminiscent of carved Black Forest items. It stands 12 1/2" high and is 10"W at the base and rests upright on a leg at the back. The piece is inscribed with eight names in German script on the reverse and is dated 8.8.1906 suggesting that it was a presentation piece. It is also signed B G Imperial. The barometer is in good working order and features a German face, a brass ring and an open escapement aneroid barometer which is 3 1/4" in diameter with a beveled glass cover. The piece dates c-1906. Overall, it is in excellent condition and would make a lovely addition to a rustic or art nouveau setting. What appear to be brass colored areas in some of the pictures is photo flash. Overall, the piece has a pewter like color.
