This item is a lovely FRENCH CHAMPAGNE/SODA WATER TAP. This is a long tap measuring 13” long. These taps were used both for Champagne bottles and soda water bottles as well. The tap would be threaded into the cork until the holes at the bottom passed through. The tap would then be pushed all the way in. The gaseous effervescence would propel the champagne or soda water out of the bottle when the small valve at the top of the tap was opened and closed. These are excellent additions to corkscrew/wine related collections.
