This item is a FRENCH BRASS CHAMPAGNE TAP. We sell these almost as fast as we buy them. This particular one is possibly in the best condition of any we've ever sold. It measures 13 1/2" long and features a wooden handle and a brass spout and tap. You screw the tap down through the cork of a champagne bottle and push it to the bottom. There are several holes at the end of the tap for the fluid to enter. Pressure pushes it up to a small valve with which you control the output. With a tap, you can considerably extend the life of a bottle of champagne. This is an ideal addition to a corkscrew and / or wine related collection and one that we find is not well known about. These date c1920.
