This item is a fantastic BLACK FOREST PUTTI FIGURAL CARVING. There should only be superlatives on this one. It is a fantastic piece of Folk Art. The figure features four putti figures in different poses on a branch with traditional Black Forest carving elements including acorns, leaves and branches. This piece is hand carved out of one piece of wood, nothing is applied or attached. The carvings are a masterpiece and display beautiful color, patina and detail. This was most likely, in an earlier life, part of some large piece of furniture. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or breaks. The figure measures 27”H and 10”W.
