This antique naive folk painting of a winter scene is done on tin and created at the end of the 19th C. It shows a rural farm house and small barn in the wintertime with smoke coming from the chimney. The landscape shows fir trees in the distance and snow covered bushes and trees in the foreground. Split rail fences complete the scene. The painting is naive and unsigned. It is done on a round convex piece of tin that was probably once used to cover a wood stove pipe. It measures 8.75 inches in diameter.
