This sterling silver chatelaine case was made in 1902 in Birmingham England, and probably by the William Adams company. The inscription reads 'Archie from Jack 1904' and it can be assumed that Archie is a young lady who has a chatelaine. The case has a sterling loop for hanging unto a chatelaine, a good closure to the lid and a gold wash to the interior. It measures just under 1 1/2 inches in length and has a diameter of 5/8 inches. At 120 years old, it does have some very shallow surface dents, but nothing that would not be expected. Today, it would make a novel pill container for your purse.
