These are genuine original magazine advertisements from a 1953 issue of National Geographic.
The dated, 1950s Coca-Cola ad features an illustration of an attractive, female car driver in a head scarf enjoying a bottle of Coca-Cola. The ad copy advises that one should, "Drive safely...drive refreshed". Also included in the montage is a highway road map, a steering wheel, and an old-fashioned gasoline pump as found in the filling stations of long ago. Remember those gas station pit stops during family road trips in our youth?
Or if one prefers, the reverse depicts an artist-signed (Leslie Ragan) illustrated rail travel ad for The Budd Company - "Pioneers In Better Transportation". There is a picture of a Budd RDC (Rail Diesel Car) train on the Santa Fe Railroad passenger/commuter service. The ad copy trumpets the increase in traffic on the line between Los Angeles and San Diego. The Budd RDC was termed, "one of the greatest advancements in modern railroading".
The vintage ad measures 10" x 6 7/8" (approx.). This back cover advertisement is printed on glossy card stock with little of the attendant signs of age and wear. This Fifties-era print ad is in very good condition and is eminently suitable for framing.
Canada/USA Postage & Packing is $4.00 (Elsewhere to be determined). Multiple items purchased from SHARP OBJECTS may be combined for shipping purposes.
