This is a genuine original magazine advertisement from a 1948 issue of The Saturday Evening Post.
This full-colour, vintage LifeSavers 5¢ candy ad features a humourous quiz about the various flavours of "the candy with the hole". Illustrations of an orange, banana, lime, pineapple, cherries, and lemon are accompanied by the following taste teaser: "Question: Which one of these fruit flavors don't you get when you get this? (an arrow indicates a roll of the candies) Answer: Yes - we have no bananas!"
Vintage Life-Savers ads have a very graphic appeal with minimal ad copy and strong visuals.
Many vintage ads can act as "time capsules", reflecting the styles and sensibilities of a particular era.
This LARGE 1940s advert measures 10 1/4" x 13 3/4" (approx.). The image of this piece of advertising memorabilia / ephemera has been accommodated completely by a large-format scanner. This Forties print ad is in very good condition (apart from slight creases) and is eminently suitable for framing.
