1948 Ad - OLDSMOBILE - 'The Smart Way to Go Places'1948 Ad - OLDSMOBILE - 'The Smart Way to Go Places'

This is a genuine original magazine advertisement from a 1948 issue of The Saturday Evening Post.

This full-colour, dated General Motors ad features an illustration of a couple cruising in a "Dynamic" Oldsmobile with "GM Hydra-Matic Drive" - "And speaking of 'drives,' there's no more colorful drive anywhere than that along the California coast on U.S. 101." The big, yellow, two-door sedan with the voluptuous lines and masses of chrome is accompanied by an illustrated, pictorial map of part of Southern California.

Many vintage ads can act as "time capsules", reflecting the styles and sensibilities of a particular era.

This LARGE 1940s advert measures 10 1/2" x 13 3/4" (approx.). The image of this piece of advertising memorabilia / ephemera has been accommodated completely by a large-format scanner. This Forties print ad is in very good condition (apart of a slight crease) and is eminently suitable for framing.
