1949 Ad - PLYMOUTH ~ Woody / Woodie Station Wagon1949 Ad - PLYMOUTH ~ Woody / Woodie Station Wagon

This is a genuine original magazine advertisement from a 1949 issue of Collier's.

This full-colour, vintage Chrysler Corporation ad features an artist-signed illustration of a family visit to a dog show. The dog show is being held under a "big top" - a large tent or marquee - with the distinctive "woody" station wagon in the foreground. Woodies proved popular with surfers as the roomy capacity and long roof allowed for passengers and their surfboards - think Annette Funicello and the Beach Boys!

Many vintage ads can act as "time capsules", reflecting the styles and sensibilities of a particular era.

This LARGE 1940s advert measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" (approx.). The image of this piece of advertising memorabilia / ephemera has been accommodated completely by a large-format scanner. This Forties print ad is in very good condition and is eminently suitable for framing.

Canada/USA Postage & Packing is $8.00 (Elsewhere to be determined). Multiple items purchased from SHARP OBJECTS may be combined for shipping purposes.
