Mid-Century/Vintage
Offered is a very lovely mid-century Mikimoto cultured salt water pearl ring. In 1893, Kokichi Mikimoto, successfully created the world's first cultured pearls. These Japanese Akoya pearls could not be more beautiful. Mikimoto pearls are amazingly elegant and beautiful whether designed as a strand of pearls or as a ring to adorn the finger.
Known for their amazing luster, each pearl is a pearly white with just a touch of rose. Nicely matched, although no two will ever be quite the same, each pearl measures approximately 8mm in diameter.
The mounting is simplistically designed to showcase the pearls. Set within a double scroll of white gold, one pearl is positioned on the left side of the first scroll while the other pearl is set on the opposing side of the second scroll.
The head of the ring measures approximately 16.24mm (5.8-inch) vertically x 11.3mm (1/2-inch) horizontally. Stunning on the hand, the ring fills out the finger very nicely.
Hallmarked appropriately with the letter M inside a clam shell. Additionally marked WG K14.
Size 8-1/4, this ring is sizable.
Well made and solid, weighing 4.1 grams.
The ring is in very nice vintage condition. The back of the shank is wearing a bit thin but years of wear still remaining.
Thrilled to acquire this beautiful Mikimoto Akoya pearl ring. A delightful treasure that will be enjoyed for a lifetime.
