Anton Michelsen was the founder of one of the most important jeweller families in Denmark. For four generations, the company made jewelery of the highest quality. Silverworks from Anton Michelsen, now part of Georg Jensen, are highly prestigious.
The domed sterling silver earrings are decorated with feather-like lines separated by a ridge across and are referred to as "goose feather" earrings. The earrings are featured on page 252 of "The Jewellery Box, Danish Jewellry Art of the 20th Century" by Jens Ingvordsen (see photos the book picture). This wonderful book provides a photo gallery of the museum exhibit in Aarhus, Denmark. The earrings are dated 1950-1959 and designed by Eigil Jensen, according to the author.
These highly collectible earrings are stamped with a crowned AM in a triangle / STERLING over DENMARK in a rectangle.
