This Georg Jensen sterling silver 'cactus flower' brooch is part of a permanent exhibit by the "Den Gamle By" in Aarhus, Denmark. This elegant silver brooch features stylized foliage and a flower with transverse ridges. It was designed by Gundorph Albertus for Georg Jensen and is design number 227. The brooch is marked GEORGE JENSEN in a dotted oval, 227 and STERLING / DENMARK. This cactus flower brooch dates post 1945. The brooch shown in the book was its earliest edition made with 830 silver in 1931-2.
Condition: Very good. There is tiny mystery stamp mark on the reverse that appears to be done during its making. The front of the pin is excellent!
