A stunning Sherman diamante necklace fit for a bride. In the 1950s romantic diamante designs were popular, simulating the elegance and brilliance of real diamonds. This Sherman necklace is beautifully designed using quality Austrian rhinestones. The rhinestones are prong set in silver-plated metal for a long lasting finish. With the extension chain, the necklace length can be adjusted for the perfect fit. The longest wearable length is 17 inches and the shortest length is 14 inches. The necklace closes with a fold-over clasp and is signed Sherman in script on the back setting of one of the teardrop rhinestones on the front. The necklace will arrive in a new quality black velvet necklace box (see photos) so it can be stored safely for years to come.
Condition: Excellent Vintage. All the rhinestones are clear and sparkling (no cloudy, yellow or dark stones).
Gustave Sherman created high quality costume jewelry in Montreal, Canada from 1947 to 1981. He is now widely collected, with prices for some of the rarest pieces rivaling that of fine jewelry. Sherman used the best Swarovski rhinestones and the best plating. Sherman's pieces were labor intensive because he only used prong set stones that required hand-setting. Sherman's hang tag line "Jewels of Elegance" emblazoned on paper tags and boxes, sums up his approach to creating exquisite ever-lasting jewelry.
