A wood doll with a swivel head, painted and sculpted hair and facial features over gesso undercoat, short blonde sculpted curls, blue eyes with unusual glancing expression, one painted brow and upper eyeliner, closed mouth with center accent line, shapely torso , dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, metal feet, painted blue ankle boots.
Condition: Very good for being over 140 years old. :-) Has been used and loved paint worn and dinged. Small crack on her right leg leading to knee and all joints move freely. Top of Head is not wood and cracked does not feel loose so may have been repaired. Please look closely at all pictures.
Circa 1879-1885, was manufactured in Springfield, Vermont, by Mason & Taylor in fine original condition of the early American doll.
