Royal Tichelaar Makkum is one of the oldest pottery companies in the Netherlands. Started before 1572 and is still producing pottery today. This is a hand painted tile with sailboats and decorated corners. Set in a hardwood frame. The late 20th century tin glaze tile is in great condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Please note, all bright white in pictures are reflections from the camera and not chips or cracks. Has a Dutch description on the back about the tile company and manufacture of this tile. The tile measures about 5 inches by 5 inches. I did not remove backing to get exact measurements. The nice frame measures 7 inches square. Has a small loop on the verso to hang on a wall.
