Recently cleaned. The painting measures 19-1/8 inches tall and 20-7/8 inches wide. Set in a new frame that measures 22-1/2 inches tall and 24-1/2 inches wide.
Sterling Boyd Strauser was an American self-taught artist, known for his paintings executed in the styles of folk and outsider art. Born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. Became a painter in expressionst / impressionist styles using a heavy impasto paint technique. Began painting in 1926 in a near impressionist style that evolved into modernism.
