People dressed up on their way to town to go to church or spend the day at shore line picnic. This oil painting on board is monogrammed at the lower right, ML. It is signed illegibly on the verso in pencil. The frame is dated July 19, 1904. The painting is in good condition. I do see some paint rub on ladies dress and a small unobtrusive scratch in tree at left. (See close up pictures.) Painting measures about 5-1/2 inches tall and 15 inches wide. Set in its original frame that measures about 8 inches tall and 17-1/2 inches wide. Frame looks nice but does have some old restorations of gold and missing gesso on edges. If you would like a new back paper, please let me know and I will have one put on free of charge.
