Currier & Ives produced more than 300 prints celebrating the American maritime industry and frequently created ‘portraits’ of clipper ships. Nathaniel Currier, knew of his customers’ interests. He was quick to publish prints of clipper ships upon their maiden voyages. This set includes 2 lithographs of Clipper Ships, Dreadnought off Tuskar Light and the Flying Cloud. They are vintage full color reprints of the original Currier & Ives plate from the 1950’s. This set is a fine example of some of the most popular American folk art ever published. They are in heavy wood frames mounted behind glass. Each picture is in great condition with no water damage or foxing. The pictures measure 8 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Set in very nice wood frame that measure 12-1/2 inches tall and 16-1/2 inches wide. I had the inside of the glass cleaned and new paper put on the backs so they are ready for another 7 decades of enjoyment.
