Plain air desert landscape from the Palm Springs area. Signed lower right, Menditto. This original oil painting on board is in great condition with no scratches, holes or restorations. The painting measures 12 inches tall and 16 inches wide. Titled on the verso of frame, A Summers Day. Set in a nice rustic wood frame that measures 21 inches tall and 25 inches wide. This painting would look great in a study or rustic interior living room.
Anthony Paul Menditto was born 1922 in Newington, Connecticut and died 2007 Blue Springs, Missouri. A bombardier during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He graduated from Connecticut State Teachers College and received the first Organic Chemistry Masters Degree granted by Fresno State University in Fresno, CA. He went on to be instrumental in development of the micro chip. He lived in California from 1956 to 2005 and moved to Missouri in 2005. Was often found painting beside his good friend Darwin Duncan who also is a listed artist. Known for his ‘Plein Air’ painting style, winning numerous awards. He belonged to several art associations, including the Palm Springs, CA and Greater Kansas City Art Associations. Routinely showed his paintings at ‘Images Gallery’ in downtown Kansas City.
