Saint Mary Magdalene holding container of perfume. This is after Carlo Dolci’s old masterpiece titled, Die Heilige Maria Magdalena. It has several gallery or museum stamps and collection identification stamps on the verso. This was a common painting for artist to duplicate for church icons and religious desires in the 18th and 19th Century. This oil painting on stretched canvas is still in great condition with no scratches, holes or restorations. I do not see a signature. It came out of the B. F. Woodward estate who was the builder and manager of Colorado's pioneer telegraph line in the 1860’s. The painting measures 11 inches wide and 14-1/2 inches tall. Set in a very nice gilded frame that measures about 14-1/2 inches wide and 18-1/2 inches tall. The frame has some minor restorations at the corners.
