This is a beautiful colorized photochrom of flowering lily pads. The early 20th century print is in great condition with no water damage, holes or tears. I had the inside of glass cleaned and took a picture of the back while it was out of the frame. See pictures. From Henke & Ostermaier, Dresden Germany. Original aufnahme and Photochromie. Titled ‘Water lilies in the forest teal nenuphars.’ The Photochrom process is considered a photographic variant of chromolithography. It was used to print black and white photo negatives in color. Used from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s before color photos were readily available for commercial manufacturing. The print measures 6-3/4 inches wide and 10-3/4 inches tall. Still in its original frame that measures 11-3/8 inched wide and 15-3/8 inches tall. If you would like a new back paper, please let me know and I will have one put on free of charge.
