A minstrel scene in a basement tavern with a monk and gentlemen singing. This painting is in great condition having been laid down on board to stabilize the canvas. The painting does have craquelure but the paint does seem to be well attached and stable. I do see a couple small spots of inpainting. A repaired tear in the canvas about 3/4” in size just above the wine bottles on the floor. Excellent color restoration on the inpainting. There is also a couple bumps in the canvas as if the canvas was knotted on the verso. It does not effect this painting but mentioned for the perfectionist. Signed lower right, M. Gaisser. The oil painting measures about 19 inches wide and 22 inches tall. Set in a gold and brown frame that measures 21-1/2 inches wide and 24-3/4 inches tall. Frame looks nice but does have a few tiny nicks and paint loss around the edges commensurate with its age. I am offering this to the continental U.S.A. only.
