I acquired lots of dogs from a lovely lady who’s mom owned the collection and sadly passed away. The entire collection was from 1920’s-1940’s. She wanted me to sale them to collectors who will love and appreciate them as much as her precious mother did.
I am not familiar with this pottery company. This ceramic dog has his original Bow and Souvenir sticker. Signed on the bottom Gordon Richardson, made in Japan. He is a ‘piggy’ bank but once you put change in him it cannot be removed. Still in great condition for his age. Has no chips. I do see a very tiny split at the coin slot from manufacturing as it is filled in with glaze. This was common when firing this type of item in primitive kilns. He measures 4-7/8 inches tall and 4-1/4 inches long.
