In the 1970s, Jim Davis created a comic strip called Gnorm Gnat, which met with little success. ... He then proceeded to create a new comic strip with a cat as its main character and thus created Garfield, who borrows the first letter of his name from Davis's earlier work. Garfield is a comic published since 1978, it chronicles the life of the title character, the cat Garfield, the human Jon Arbuckle, and the dog Odie. As of 2013, it was syndicated in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals and held the Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely syndicated Comic Strip.
I love Garfield and was fortunate to come across a huge clean collection. This cutie pie is adorable. Made in 1981 and now a retired piece. He is in great condition measuring about 9 inches tall and 6 inches wide. He also has his original hang tag. Please note all white in eyes is reflection from glare and not chips.
