Arther Evans originally started Desert Sands 1949 in Boulder Nevada but when he passed in 1962 his son Ferrell moved the company to Barstow California. There it stayed open into the 1980’s. The small bowl or cup has the original Boulder NV stamp on the bottom and the vase has the newer Barstow stamp from California. The swirled blue, white and brown vase is the newer one from Barstow. It sits 2 inches tall and 4 inches wide. The swirled olive green, brown, white and blue cup is the older with the the Boulder stamp. These were hand thrown and have a glossy glaze to protect the sand clay. These would work well for condiment or dip bowls.
