The painting measures 15-3/4 inches tall and 19-3/4 inches wide. Painting is in great condition with no holes, restorations or scratches in the oil painting. It is signed and dated lower left, John Richard Perry 1976. The weathered looking wood frame measures 19 inches tall and 23 inches wide. Frame is in great condition. On the verso the original back paper is torn. If you would like a new back paper please let me know and I will have it put on free of charge. The artist card is attached to the back. John Richard Perry Sr. is most known for his marine paintings, and is the son of the famous marine artist Robert Lee Perry. He is a seventh-generation painter and is proud to carry on his family tradition of fine art. His paintings are included in the collections of former President Gerald R. Ford, Queen Elizabeth II, the U.S. Coast Guard Museum at New London, Connecticut, the Custom House Maritime Museum at Newburyport, Massachusetts, the U.S. Navy at the Pentagon, the White House, and many other corporate and private collections. Born in Rockland, Maine in 1945 he works exclusively in oil on canvas. Enjoys the challenge of creating the illusion of movement in the oceans he paints and then coupling that with weather to make everything in the artwork correct in every detail.
