This is a mountainous landscape with a small home in a clearing with the towering peak as its backdrop. The Zugspitze, at 9718 feet above sea level, is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains as well as the highest mountain in Germany. I see no scratches, holes or restorations in the painting. The painting measures about 14-1/2 inches tall and 18-1/4 inches wide. It is signed in the lower left, Schneider 1955. The original frame still looks nice but has wear commensurate with its age. Frame measures 17 inches tall and 21 inches wide. Titled ‘Die Zugspitze’ at lower left on verso.
