Waiting for the next tide, a ship rests in shallow waters while the children play and the women say good by to their loved ones. One child is hanging on the rope and another has his toy ship in the water. It goes to show kids are kids even back then. This 19th century watercolor painting is in great condition with no tears, holes or water damage. It is signed with the unknown artist monogram lower right. The painting measures inside the gold mat 6-3/4 inches wide and 8-1/2 inches tall. In a fancy gold frame that measures 11 inches wide and 14-1/4 inches tall. It is missing the bottom right gesso corner and the top centerpiece is cracked but still securely attached. The brittle back paper has long since come off so if you would like a new back paper let me know and I will have it put on free of charge.
