This is a victorian style miniature painting on porcelain. It is hand painted and has gold embellishments around the edges. It has been shadow box mounted behind glass on a green velvet. Made in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Upon very close examination there is a hair line scratch across her face that can be seen only under high magnification. I see no chips, cracks or crazing. The porcelain measures about 1-1/2 inches wide and 2 inches tall oval. The wood frame measures 5-1/4 inches wide and 6-1/4 inches tall. Unfortunately, it is securely mounted so I can not see if it is marked and signed by the artist on the verso. If you would like a new back paper please let me know and I will have it put on free of charge.
