This beautiful LARGE print is vintage. I would say it was made in the early 1910 -1920. It depicts two pretty ladies walking in a Garden with their parasols. The artist name is Louis Jambor – American/Hungarian artist.
This print is still vivid in color . It measures 29-1/2 inches wide and 23-1/4 inches tall. In frame 32-1/4 inches wide and 26-1/4 inches tall. The original frame show light wear. Overall this piece is wonderful and would look great in a Shabby - Chic or victorian home.
Louis Jambor (1884 – 1955) Louis Jambor enjoyed a rewarding career marked by versatility. His artistic talents were fully appreciated by fellow artists, critics, and satisfied clients. A multi-faceted artists who painted society portraits, book illustrations, and scenery for film. His splendid work as a book illustrator is attested by a multitude of volumes; among them is the 1947 edition of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women.
At the time of his death, June 11, 1954, he was president of the American Artists Professional League. He was also affiliated with a number of other professional organizations, including the American Watercolor Society, Allied Artists of America, and the Audobon Artists, and was a former president of the Salmagundi Club.
Born in the city of Nagyvárad Hungary on August 1, 1884, he studied at the Royal Art Academy in Budapest and afterwards abroad, in Germany and Italy. He was best known for religious wall decorations in churches and was one of the prominent artists who did the decorations for St. Stephen of Hungary Church along with Alexander Finta. His murals were painted in houses of worship and large private homes and public buildings.
