This is a page out of a book that was published in the 19th century about the work of Jacques Grasset De Saint-Sauveur. The etching print was made by J Laroque. I believe the book was on the historical costumes and customs of different cultures around the world. The etching was hand painted with watercolor paint to give the print color. It was printed on wove paper that does have a couple light spots of watercolor. I do not see any tears, holes or water damage. The etching plate mark measures about 5-3/4 inches wide and 8 inches tall. The image itself measures about 4-1/2 inches wide and 6-3/4 inches tall. The frame measures 7-3/4 inches wide and 10 inches tall. The name L. A. Thompson is written in pencil on the back paper.
