This is a delightful and rare limited edition print of a colonial home in yesteryear old Boston. The American flag is flying, two ladies are jumping rope and sail boats can be seen in the bay. Two horse drawn carriages sit outside the white fence while two men socialize in the front yard. Signed and numbered in pencil bottom left, Charles Wysocki 994 of 1000. This is a lithograph print. Sitting behind 4 mats the print measures inside the mat 13-1/4 inches tall and 26-1/2 inches wide. The original frame measures 21-1/2 tall and 34-3/4 inches wide. The frame looks OK but does have some dings and spots of missing paint around the edges. On the verso the original back paper does have some small tears and holes. If you would like new back paper please let me know and I will have it put on free of charge.
Charles Wysocki is a highly collected artist for his limited edition yesteryear colonial folk art scenes and cats. This particular print is hard to find and was limited to just 1000 copies. Most of his edition prints are 2500 to 5000 in size. It was very common to find a print like this without a frame selling for $3000.00 - $4000.00 before the downturn of the art market. Over the past year his prices have once again begun to climb.
