Happy people on a busy town street in an English countryside downtown. I see no water damage, tears or restorations. There is also a miniature painting of a cat with birds on the lower corner of the mat. This is a nice watercolor and ink painting on paper. The painting inside the double mat measures about 4 inches tall and 5-1/2 inches wide. Cat in lower corner measures 1/2 inch tall and 1-1/4 inch wide. The 1980’s golden frame measures 10-1/2 inches tall and 12 inches wide. I do see a small dent in the wood at top of frame. Painting is titled and signed in the lower right, Porlock, Diane Elson. On the verso is the artist label. Diane Elson was born in Sutton, Surrey and began her career as an artist while still at school, painting commissions and writing and illustrating the first of her books for children.
