I found this lovely piece from a collection of turtle souvenirs, where the original owner traveled the entire world. The vivid color yellow captured my eye. I put toothpicks in the holes to demonstrate what it would look like. It is in great condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. Made in the late mid-century I would say around the 1960’s-1970. It would make a lovely addition to your Hors d-oeuvres display. This piece I found interesting because I never heard of Florina. I have been to Greece but am not familiar with this place. Florina, Greek: Φλώρινα, known also by several alternative names, is a town and municipality in mountainous northwestern Macedonia, Greece. Its motto is, 'Where Greece begins'. It is also the Metropolitan seat for the region. It lies in the central part of Florina regional unit, of which it is the capital. This adorable turtle would make a nice gift for the turtle collector. It measures about 7 inches long, 5 inches wide and 3-1/2 inches tall. Of course the toothpicks are no included.
